    • Machining pure aluminium and soft aluminium alloys

      Milling cutters and drills equipped with different coatings are suitable for the machining of aluminium. Pure aluminium can be perfectly machined with single flute tools from the Sharp-Line.

      We recommend our Universal-Line or Sharp-Line tools for the machining of soft aluminium alloys.  Here it mostly comes down to the quality of cut surfaces and the absence of burrs.

      Edge geometries in the Sharp-Line and Universal-Line by HUFSCHMIED offer a long service life with top surface qualities and without the development of burrs.

    • Machining medium-strength aluminium alloys

      For the processing of medium-strength aluminium material, we recommend the use of our Proto-Line tools with two or three cutting blades.  These tools come with polished cutting blades and thus offer the very best in removal rate, tool life and feed rate.

    • Machining hard aluminium alloys

      Due to their PVD-coating or mono-crystalline diamond coating, HUFSCHMIED tools can be adapted to the respective requirement profile.  This achieves a maximum of cost efficiency when milling aluminium.  In order to process these materials at extremely high rotational speeds, we recommend HC 402 radius cutters and HC 402 torus cutters, both especially developed for this task.

    • Friction Stir Welding with Hufschmied-FSW-Pins

      Compared to steel pins, SC pins can achieve thinner welding sems due to their superior L/D ratio.

  • Aluminium dibond

    Optimum milling of Aluminium Dibond

    Aluminium and plastic laminates are used primarily in the advertising materials industry, trade fair construction or housing construction. Due to the plastic core, these materials are extremely light and can be processed very easily as sheet material. Engravings and inscriptions can be worked into the top and bottom sides of aluminium in such a way that they shine metallically – this makes the material particularly interesting for signage. With Hufschmied precision tools, burr-free and chatter-free surfaces can be milled on the visible edge with optimized chip removal, and this at high feed rates. Cost-intensive and time-consuming reworking is completely eliminated.

    • Polished cutting blades for burr-free machining without gumming up

      Due to their polished cutting blades, Universal-Line tools from HUFSCHMIED have the advantage that the chip volume generated can be removed without any gumming up. The processed surfaces are burr-free and meet even high quality requirements.  We are happy to advise you about the groove-processing of aluminium dibond materials and with the configuration of the necessary tools.

      Single-blade tools from the Universal-Line and KD polymer drills are particularly suited to aluminium and polyamide combi-materials.

  • Milling extruded aluminium

    Reliable milling of extruded aluminium

    Extruded aluminium profiles are required in a wide range of industries. This material is used for everything from window profiles and interior structural walls to applications in the automotive industry.

    When processing extruded aluminium profiles, the main requirements are generally that the edges are free of burrs and have an optimum surface finish.

    The special tools for aluminium from Hufschmied are excellently suited for a cost-efficient and high-quality machining of aluminium.

    • Special substrate material for optimal force transmission

      Shank- and torus cutters of the CA402 series are configured in such a way that they can effortlessly meet the requirements for component quality in extruded aluminium profiles.  They absorb feed-back forces within their specially developed substrate material and thus prevents blade edge damage, not to mention tool breakage.

      For exterior-facing aluminium profiles, as found in the construction of vehicles or window frames, we recommend single-blade milling cutters from our Universal-Line and milling cutters from series CA402. Their special blade geometry and their construction in a particular hard metal substrate allow them also to be used in robotic machining centres.
